RegClean has found a limited following amongst those people looking for a registry repair/cleaner program.

RegClean may not be the most advanced products on the market, but the 2Squared Software designers have ensured that RegClean works well with Windows 98/M, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows Vista.


The Registry Repair Feature – 60%

During our testing we found RegClean to be efficient and thorough in its scanning of the Windows registry. This registry cleaner managed to identify several hundred issues affecting the smooth running of our computer.

RegClean steers through a user in the repair process, offering an option of repair or ignore during the process.

Once we had repaired all of our issues using RegClean we then rebooted our computer to see what impact it had had. Initially we were pleased with the results as our test machine started up much quicker than it had been doing.

All of our annoying error messages though had not disappeared. The repair process had indicated that these issues had all been resolved but alas it was not the case.

These remaining errors could have bee caused by another computer problem, like hardware damage or presence of a virus, so may not have been the fault of RegClean.

Overall we would have to say that RegClean worked quickly and resolved the majority of our issues.

RegClean is a very simple program to use, and has a good option that allows either the whole Windows registry to be scanned or to customise the scan to pick and choose areas to be investigated.

The only downside is that there is a lack of documentation in the form of user manuals, although the need for this is limited, as RegClean is a very simple piece of software.
